FMA students worked in teams to try to build the tallest balloon
structures they could using nothing but balloons, tape, and their
ingenuity. Our budding MacGyvers learned that their success
was highly connected to their ability to work well in their teams.
Communication, collaboration, and support were just as
important as great ideas in the structure building. Students later
had the opportunity to watch MIT students build their own
balloon structures, and took some ideas from the college
students’ efforts. The MIT architects then had a second
opportunity to build the balloon structures. We’re proud to say
that most of the FMA teams built taller balloon structures during
their second attempt. Yay! for great ideas, great learning, great
team work, and amazing performances. We can’t wait to see
their next projects!
